Dozens of area students received awards and scholarships during Mount Wachusett Community College's annual Evening of Excellence academic awards ceremony, held May 14 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Leominster. The ceremony showcased students receiving national, state and regional awards in recognition of their performance inside the classroom as well as their contributions in the community. Read more...

Welcome to the Graduation 2015 public page.  This page is intended to provide you with all of the information you will need to enjoy the college's 50th commencement ceremony.

 

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Backpacks and other duffle bags are prohibited. All other bags are subject to voluntary inspection by police.

 

bullet Answers to the Most Frequently Asked Questions

  • The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the Fitness & Wellness Center, located in the Vietnam Veterans Physical Education Complex at the Gardner Campus.
  • The MWCC 2015 Commencement is a TICKETED event. Guests without tickets may access seating in an enclosed tent to the exterior of the MWCC Fitness & Wellness Center.
  • Ticketed guests should plan their admission to the MWCC Fitness Center from 5:00 – 5:45 p.m. No entry will be allowed during the Commencement processional from 6:00 – 6:20 p.m.
  • No children's strollers will be permitted into the MWCC Fitness Center.
  • Expect commencement to last at least two hours.
  • The Commencement Reception begins immediately following the ceremony in the Commons area.
  • MWCC's school colors are blue and green.
  • Commencement Rehearsal is on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Fitness and Wellness Center.

 

bullet "Project Graduation" Food Drive

The MWCC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is sponsoring the 11th annual "Project Graduation" in conjunction with the 2015 Commencement ceremony. All graduates and their guests are requested to bring a non-perishable food item to the Commencement rehearsal or ceremony. Receptacles will be located at the Fitness Center and all donations will be given to the Gardner Community Action Committee in Gardner at the conclusion of the event.

If you can't be at the graduation, view it live! The ceremony is being streamed live in its entirety by MWCC at mwcc.edu/livetv. Also, enjoy some pictures from previous graduations and messages to this year's graduates. If you're on the go, you can follow MWCC on Twitter for live updates of the event from your mobile device!

bullet Special Seating and Parking for Guests with Disabilities

Parking lot E (see directions and parking below) will be reserved for those with disabilities and will be available for parking begining an hour before commencement.  Reserved seating near the exit is available for those guests requiring it.  Please indicate this informaiton when you pick up your Commencement tickets. Guests who need seating accommodations will receive a special ticket labeled "Disability Seating".  

 

bullet Directions and Parking Information

The commencement ceremony will take place in the Fitness & Wellness Center, located in the Vietnam Veterans Physical Education Complex at the Gardner Campus.  Parking lot E, near the loading dock, and across from the Fitness and Wellness Center, will be reserved for guests with disabilities. It will be closed the entire day of commencement until one hour before the ceremony. Click here for complete directions to the college and a parking map.

 

bullet Commencement Reception

Immediately following the commencement ceremony, the college will host a reception for graduates, their family, friends, and college faculty and staff. The reception is located in the Commons area where refreshments will be served. There is no charge for the reception.

 

bullet Flowers for your Graduate

Windmill Florist & Gifts will be located outside of the Fitness and Wellness Center with assorted fresh cut flowers and assorted rose bouquets available for purchase.

In case of inclement weather they will be set up inside the Fitness and Wellness Center by the vending area to the left as you walk in.

They will also be set up the following evening for the Nurses Pinning Ceremony on Thursday, May 21, 2015.

 

bullet Commencement Photos

The official commencement photographer (Commencement Photos, Inc.) will be taking pictures of each graduate at the ceremony and will contact each graduate directly regarding the purchase of prints.
